ABOUT: Luscinia is an audiovisual performance by artists Olesya Vashchenko & Simona Markevich.
The title means "nightingale" in Latin. The idea is based on the eponymous fairy tale about an emperor who replaced a songbird with its mechanical replica. This project is a multimedia reflection on humanity’s ability to reproduce nature, replicate and enhance its structures, and engage in a dialogue with it.
Inspiration for the Luscinia logo comes from the textures of natural spiral fossils, as well as artificial artefacts like ancient coins & stamps.
Typographical part is based on slightly irregular yet refined forms, that reflect the project's balance between the organic and the mechanical.
Moodboard of the project was based on energy circulations, historical heritage, idea of a circle itself, biological mimicry & symbiotic processes in nature.
